Design and Concept:
- Firstly we will determine the purpose of your conservatory. Will it be a dining area, a lounge, a study, or a combination of functions?
- We then consider the style and architecture of your existing home to ensure the conservatory complements it.
- We’ll then decide on the size and shape of the conservatory based on available space and your requirements.
Obtain Planning Permission:
- we’ll check with your local authorities regarding any necessary planning permissions or building regulations.
- We the submit your design plans and wait for approval before proceeding with the construction.
Choose Timber:
- We select a high-quality timber that is durable and weather-resistant, such as oak, teak, or engineered timber.
- We ensure the timber is sustainably sourced and treated to resist rot, pests, and weather damage.
Foundation and Base:
- We prepare the foundation and base for the conservatory. This may involve excavation, pouring a concrete base, or installing footings.
- This will ensure the base is level and strong enough to support the weight of the conservatory.
Frame Construction:
- We construct the timber frame according to the design plans.
- Ensuring that the frame is accurately measured, assembled, and securely fixed to the base.
Glazing:
- We choose high-quality glazing that offers good insulation, UV protection, and soundproofing.
- We’ll ask you to consider double or triple glazing to improve energy efficiency.
- We then fit the glazing into the frame, ensuring a proper seal to prevent drafts and water leakage.
Roofing:
- We’ll then select a suitable roofing material, such as glass, polycarbonate, or tiled roof.
- We’ll always ensure you have the proper insulation and ventilation to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the year.
Flooring and Finishing:
- We’ll help you decide on the flooring material, such as hardwood, laminate, or stone tiles, that complements your conservatory’s design.
- We can then advise you on installing skirting boards, trim, and other finishing touches to give the conservatory a polished look.
Heating, Lighting, and Decor:
- Heating systems, such as underfloor heating or radiators, ensure the conservatory is comfortable during colder months.
- Your plans will include electrical outlets, lighting fixtures, and any desired technological features.
- You’ll then be able to decorate the conservatory with furniture, plants, and accessories that suit your desired style and purpose.
